Las Virgenes Unified School District Reviews
Rating 4.47 out of 5 49 reviews
Rating 5 out of 5
I am a parent of 2 students at Yerba Buena Elementary School. It's an honor to write a glowing review for our principal Mrs. Marshall. For example: The school needed to improve security measures to the access points of the school and Mrs. Marshall met with a large group of parents, teachers and the facilities coordinator for the District, listened to what improvements were needed and made sure those safety measures were executed. She made everyone feel heard during the process, which was very meaningful. Additionally, Mrs. Marshall does a very good job of taking care of the mental health of our students. She organized an assembly for social media safety and she continues to follow up with ideas to protect our kids from the threats of social media. Mrs. Marshall is warm and loving towards the students and they all love her and look forward to seeing her everyday. She attends all school events with a big smile on her face. I could not be happier with her as a principal!

Although half of the students are obnoxious and disrespectful, there are many nice and fun people to make friends with. There are a few gems within the staff who are nothing but kind, caring, and supportive. They have and will always create a safe space for their students. I will always cherish what some of my teachers and counselors have done for me and the relationship I've built with them throughout the years. For academics and classes, the Arts are thriving at this school. The teachers and students are passionate to create and experience art at its finest. For something that needs to be changed, it is most definitely administration addressing issues that students and staff go out of their way to recognize and speak out about. Administration handles things like bullying, harassment, and issues with their facilities and campus very poorly, and that needs to change for the safety and well-being of everyone on this campus.

The staff and administration care deeply about the success of the students. As a parent, I have been so happy to have worked with numerous administrators who have helped my child. They create action plans and implement them along the way.
