Stevensville, Michigan Gladys Pickering 1935 — 2024 Gladys J Pickering, a lifelong resident of Michigan died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 6, 2024. Gladys was born March 27, 1935, in Alpena to the late Henry and Alda Kann. She married the love of her life, Keith Pickering on December 14, 1963 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Eastpointe. She was unmatched in her skills as a secretary and as a cradle to grave Lutheran served the Lord faithfully in this vocation both professionally and as a volunteer. Gladys brought laughter and love to all she met. She was born in Gaylord on April 10, 1940, one of nine children of Ernest and Violet (Koronka) Dowker. In 1958? She married her husband, Dale Kreger, and together they owned and operated the Busy Bee Market in Johannesburg, until his passing in 2008. Jim served in the United States Air Force for four years as a "flying electrician" and was stationed at what is now Joint Base McChord in Tacoma, WA. Following his service, Jim joined the Tacoma Police Department for the City of Tacoma, WA. He worked first in the jail and then as a patrol and motorcycle officer.
